Custom Furniture Expertly Crafted

Whether your style is understated or extravagant, we build pieces that suit you and your spaces. Our custom furniture starts with a consultation, where we’ll discuss each room’s ideal function and how we can design furniture that can help you meet those goals.

Hand-Crafted for a Legacy of Quality

Choosing properly made, long-lasting furnishings is a sign of respect for yourself and your home, the craft of furniture building, and a more sustainable world. Here’s how we create an unmistakable difference in comfortable, supportive, and durable pieces.

Framing & Joinery

Unlike many luxury furniture retailers, we start with solid hardwoods like maple and construct our frames with glue-and-dowel joinery. For upholstered seating, we attach a robust webbing suspension system, nailed to the frame in a basketweave pattern and tightly cinched. Coil springs are affixed to each junction of the webbing, and all adjacent springs are tied to one another using twine (a technique known as eight-way hand-tied springs).

Foam & Cushioning

We source high-density foam from a local Connecticut vendor, who also recycles all of our foam scraps (including those removed during reupholstery). That foam is adhered to the spring system and wrapped in a down casement. In addition, all of our throw pillows are filled with custom down inserts.

Materials Selection

Need a durable wallpaper that stands up to kids and pets? Want a statement-making print that pops? We’ll find the right fit for your furniture among the 10,000 samples in our Library.
